Abstract:
A new Online library reference can present the same advantages in reliability, authority, and professionalism as does online library content. QuestionPoint is a collaborative reference service developed by OCLC and the Library of Congress, with input from the Global Reference Network, an international library group for the advancement of digital reference. This service places the collective expertise of libraries around the globe at the service of an individual reference question, promising to assist libraries in regaining "information market share" from the public Web. Details of QuetionPoint's features and operation are provided.
