Abstract:
The article presents the guidelines for the development and promotion of multilingual collections and services in the U.S. There is a need for libraries to set goals, objectives and policies that integrate multilingual services into their overall work plan. In implementing a level of collection development, it is important to consider the demand and availability of materials. Libraries should offer and actively promote multilingual services and programming for the various ethnic groups in the community.
